Pregnancy and the Risk of CHD Recurrence in Child

Women with congenital heart disease are more likely to have children with CHD - 5-7% as opposed to less than 1% for the general population. Except for certain defects (e.g. Marfan's Syndrome, with up to a 50% chance of recurrence), the child's defect will often be different than the mother's.
